Dengus Handheld Controller

Hot tyres on mining vehicles can catch fire, and a tyre fire on a haul truck is a very bad day. This handheld, built for Dengus Group as an HFS Design project, deflates hot tyres before it gets to that.

The operator picks the vehicle, truck, loader or water cart, selects a tyre position, and the controller takes it from there, showing the state of each position as it goes.

It's a fully custom handheld: touchscreen UI, WiFi, battery powered, in a rugged enclosure. I designed the electronics and wrote the firmware, and built the first batch at HFS.
